Title JT8D Engine Mechanic
Position Overview The JT8D Engine Mechanic/Inspector position reports to the Engine Shop Supervisor and is responsible for the dismantle, assembly, piece part inspection and quality of JT8D engines in compliance with Company policies, manufacturer’s specification and maintenance manuals.
Responsibilities
  • Dismantle of JT8D aircraft engines to module and piece part status
  • Assemble modules
  • Assemble modules into engine assembly
  • Individual part inspection as per JT8D manuals
  • Reassemble module inspection as per above
  • Balancing (if applicable) of discs statically and rotors dynamically
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years Pratt & Whitney JT8D engine and bench inspection experience
  • Completion of a recognized engine training course preferred
  • AME License or CAMC certification required
  • Piece part and module level inspection experience
  • Ability to interpret engine manuals and other technical data
  • Good working knowledge of jet engine operation in order to determine proper repairs
  • Balancing experience an asset
  • Good mathematical ability
  • Ability to interpret diagrams and/or blueprints
  • Able to use a variety of precision measuring equipment
  • Computer oriented
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
